By Karen Minogue, Director of Development
Recently I was on the road to visit one of our grantees, Tara Hall Home for Boys. Tara Hall, which accepts neglected, troubled, and abused boys ages 6 to 12, is a long-term residential school that develops moral, social, educational and life skills, molding these boys into men of character while providing services to their families. Tara Hall provides these services to boys from the state of South Carolina.
Offering a home environment, meeting all of the physical and emotional needs of the boys, and an on-campus school to meet the educational needs of the boys, Tara Hall also offers a Family Services program to assist the families of the boys in preparing them for the eventual return of their boys.
Here at Waccamaw, our job is to serve as your partner in philanthropy by connecting donors with causes they care about and providing services to our fundholders. A visit to Tara Hall is just one of the many ways we stay up-to-date as your philanthropic advisor. Whether that means connecting you with amazing nonprofits in our community, advising you on effective grantmaking or managing your charitable assets, read on for three ways we work with you on giving back.
We help you give wisely.
Donors who give through Waccamaw have access to expertise developed through our deep experience with the nonprofit community. You can call on us for the tools and information you need to meet your philanthropic goals. Our staff is available to discuss your charitable intentions and help you formulate the giving strategy that makes most sense for you and the beneficiary nonprofit. Additionally, if you have a donor-advised fund and would like to recommend a grant to a nonprofit, you can now recommend grants online through our new website.
We are your nonprofit advisors.
We help you give easily, happily and strategically. We can provide opportunities for you to learn about specific charitable organizations and issues and match you to causes and projects that fit your interests. We can research local nonprofits, recommend specific organizations and connect you to other experts. Our connections to the local nonprofit sector through competitive grant programs give us the knowledge to help you develop your legacy, meet other donors and learn more about our community.
We provide financial and investment expertise
