As a compassionate no-kill rescue organization we strive to responsibly rescue, take care of, and place as many ownerless and scheduled to die, lost, abandoned and/or abused animals as possible; to support community spay/neuter initiatives that reduce unwanted dog and cat populations while becoming a more valued community resource.

The mission of of the Baskervill Food Pantry is to provide supplemental food and nutrition education to people of the Georgetown County area who are food insecure while promoting community awareness of food insecurity.

Mission Statement: The Birthright center in Georgetown, SC is an outreach and resource center for pregnant women, foster parent(s) and guardians. Services include mentoring as well as referral assistance to medical care, appropriate community and government agencies, parenting programs and adoption providers. Resources offered are pregnancy tests, diapers, wipes, baby clothing, layettes for newborns, personal care items, and educational assistance. Birthright is not a political organization and is not affiliated with a specific religion or group.

Mission Statement: The Black River United Way (BRUW) creates a better quality of life for people in Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties by leveraging resources to lead early grade learning programs for children, build family self-sufficiency, and ensure disaster resiliency through preparation and mitigation: with the goal of producing the greatest community impact.

Mission Statement: Blue Star Mothers of Coastal Carolina is a chapter of Blue Star Mothers National. We are Mothers, Grandmothers and Step Mothers who have or have had children serving in the US Military. We support our troops here and around the globe. We support our area Veterans and Veterans Organizations. We are the Grand Strands Official Sponsors for Wreaths Across America for the Florence National Cemetery. And we support each other when our children are deployed or any member is in need. We have been a chartered chapter of Blue Star Mothers since 2008. Mission Statement: As the only African-American historical living farm museum in the United States, Freewoods Farm is devoted to recognizing and perpetuating the contributions of African-American farmers. Located in the Burgess community of Myrtle Beach, SC, in rural Horry County, the Farm provides education, documentation and preservation of the activities of these farms from their establishment during the post-Civil War years into the 20th century.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to provide a temporary safe haven for people in need. We promote dignity and inclusion while building trust and connecting people to other community resources through love, grace, hope, and a fresh brewed cup of coffee. We directly support people experiencing housing, food, and healthcare insecurity through their State Identification, Coffee on Suspend, Community Care Card, and Food Is Free-Myrtle Beach programs. Our venue also offers a space for music and art, recovery and advocacy meetings, church groups, youth groups, clubs, networking groups, educational training, and all other life events.

Mission Statement: The Friends of the Chapin Memorial Library is a non-profit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization established in January 1987. The Friends consist of concerned citizens who share the belief that a strong public library is an essential educational, recreational, cultural, and community support resource. The Friends actively support Chapin Memorial Library by:-Sponsoring activities that enhance the cultural and academic life of the surrounding community.-Providing general financial support from the library by encouraging gifts, sponsorships, fundraising activities, and promoting special projects.-Creating awareness of specific needs and resources of the library.

Mission Statement: Friendship Medical Clinic strives to improve the health and well-being of all Horry County citizens by providing free healthcare services to socioeconomically and geographically disadvantaged residents.

Mission Statement: Friendship Place will partner with all willing and capable people living in poverty in Georgetown county. We will offer one-on-one coaching to help those wanting to break the yoke of poverty. We will extend the hand of Christian friendship by feeding the homeless and offering prayer counselors, while maintaining the flexibility to address other day-to-day unmet needs.

Mission Statement: Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Mission Statement: Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using fun, experience-based curricula that creatively integrates running. It is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PYD) program designed to enhance 3rd-8th girls’ social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on the development of competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls. Trained, caring, and qualified coaches deliver the life skills curriculum during out-of-school times by guiding small teams of girls through twice-a-lessons that promote social-emotional learning concurrently with physical activity. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and completing a celebratory, non-competitive 5K event.

Mission Statement: Good Friends of Georgetown County is an organization of women who seek to improve the life of people in our community who face a temporary financial crises that threatens basic human needs.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Grand Strand Down Syndrome Society is to make life better for people in our community who have Down syndrome and their families and caregivers. We will offer support and information to families and professionals, and we will promote a positive image of Down syndrome in our area. We will bring to light the potential and greatness that each person with Down syndrome possesses. We will strive to create the kind of awareness and acceptance of Down syndrome that will last long after our generation is gone. We will nurture parents of babies with Down syndrome, and we will provide all people whose lives have been touched by this condition a group where they feel welcomed and accepted. We will create opportunities for individuals and families to network, socialize, and become better informed. Furthermore, as we are able, we will support local, state, and national efforts to ensure fair and equitable conditions for all people who have Down syndrome or another disability.

Mission Statement: Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach is a short-term crisis and referral agency which seeks to address the needs of our community not met by other existing institutions. Our mission is to assist individuals and families with immediate, short-term needs such as food, rent, utilities, and other specialized services, which if not met, would threaten an individual’s or family’s stability. By providing these services Helping Hand seeks to prevent those in need of basic services from falling into homelessness.

Mission Statement: The Baruch Foundation manages and conserves the premier coastal ecology, history research and education center on the East Coast, with a focus on the intersection of history and ecology while promoting and supporting research that will help coastal communities deal with the challenges of the future.

Mission Statement: Hope’s Kitchen is a ministry that loves all people and shares the love found only in Jesus Christ. On a typical Tuesday night we offer physical and spiritual nourishment through a food pantry, a clothes closet, haircuts, showers, a mobile medical unit (Little River Medical Clinic), Christian music, a message, a hot meal, prayer, fellowship, Blessing Bag outreach, and more. It is a safe place where all are welcome. Whether you are a volunteer or a guest, we are a ministry to serve each other.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation (HPCF) is to discover and address the unmet needs of individuals and families facing end-of-life issues through innovative and collaborative programs and services and includes providing funds for one-time emergency needs, as well as educational, technological, and grief support. HPCF has served hundreds of families in every county of South Carolina through its financial relief and quality-of-life programming, providing over $1.7 million in aid over the past ten years, and has provided over 1,500 children and their adult family members with an all-inclusive weekend bereavement camp each year since 2007.

Mission Statement: The Mission of the Housing Authority of Myrtle Beach is to assist low-income families with safe decent and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve Self-Sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives. The Housing Authority of Myrtle Beach creates and maintains partnerships with its clients and appropriate community agencies in order to accomplish this mission.

Mission Statement: The mission of The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is to find loving and permanent homes for abandoned animals; provide first rate veterinary care through our experienced, local veterinarians; offer low cost spay and neuter programs for dogs and cats, and to reach out to children, teachers, and parents through the education of pet responsibility.

Mission Statement: IMPACT Ministries of Myrtle Beach is a 501 C-3 organization (27-2059806) that focuses on bringing volunteer teams to the Grand Strand area to serve. Our work here has its roots going back to the late 1950s serving in the camp grounds and throughout our community. We became involved with Horry County Emergency Management in 2005. Our vision has been consistent, but we have changed names a few times over these 65+ years to better fit our vision and as our former managing organizations changed too. (Grand Strand Ministries, Intracoastal Outreach, and now IMPACT Ministries) In 2010, we became IMPACT Ministries of Myrtle Beach, operating independently from any specific denomination, but under the direction of our board members. We operate under an advisory board of local church pastors, community leaders, and business owners. The IMPACT mission is to influence those who live, work and play in Myrtle Beach and along the Grand Strand with the life-changing love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our vision is to creatively share Christ with people, minister to their needs, assist in planting them in local churches, and help grow the Church through providing intentional mission involvement. The goals of IMPACT include evangelism, ministry, and growth. Our desire is to meet people where they are, care for their needs, and share the hope of Christ. The activities of IMPACT should assist in the growth of the church body, and encourage each person to become disciples actively involved in a local fellowship of believers. IMPACT Ministries works alongside partnering churches both in the county and from all over the USA in providing volunteer work and ministry throughout the Grand Strand community. For many years we have hosted day camps in local housing developments in low-income communities in addition to campgrounds with our church partners. When disasters hit the Grand Strand, we mobilize guest church groups to help in coordinated efforts with other non-profits and the country’s National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) efforts. Going forward, our retreat/ministry center will be able to accommodate lodging for these 100 volunteers and disaster agencies. Every ministry effort and desire is to meet needs, assist the local church, and provide development and care in the communities God has placed us in to serve.

Mission Statement: Joint Task Force K9s is a faith-based nonprofit enriching the lives of Active-Duty Military, Combat Veterans, and Law Enforcement with disabilities through K9 Therapy and the placement of specially trained Service Dogs. Our goal is to prevent Veteran and Law Enforcement suicide and help our nation’s Heroes with their integration back into the community by providing gains of mobility, independence, and peace of mind for Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Mission Statement: The mission of Kids’ Chance of South Carolina is to provide scholarships and support to children of South Carolina workers who have been seriously or fatally injured in a work-related accident.

Mission Statement: Kind Keeper Animal Rescue (KKAR, also known as Kind Keeper, Inc.) was founded in 2014 as a small, non-profit 501c3 organization by Belinda Mairowicz. Kind Keeper’s mission is to actively rescue dogs and cats that are homeless, at high risk for euthanasia due to shelter over population, and often suffering from medical problems. This includes a high population of newborns, pregnant animals, as well as senior animals. We provide veterinary care, proper nutrition, training, exercise, and love to prepare animals for adoption in the community. We accept owner surrenders and also take animals from several surrounding county shelters when we have space, and they are overcrowded and have animals facing euthanasia.

Mission Statement: The LoVe Pet Clinic is a low cost spay/neuter facility. Affordable surgeries are provided to all pet owners, animal shelters and rescue groups. Veterinary care is offered without the high cost attached. Our goal is to prevent unwanted litters of puppies and kittens.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Lowcountry Food Bank is to lead the fight against hunger in our community. The Lowcountry Food Bank serves the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina (Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Georgetown, Hampton, Horry, Jasper, and Williamsburg). Each year, the Lowcountry Food Bank partners with over 200 non-profit and faith-based organizations to distribute nearly 40 million pounds of food and other essential items to more than 200,000 food-insecure children, seniors, Veterans, and adults across coastal South Carolina.

The vision of the McLeod Health Foundation is to help provide the very best healthcare resources. The McLeod Health Foundation plays a vital role in helping McLeod Health meet the needs of the patients in the communities we serve.

Mission Statement: North Strand Helping Hand provides assistance with the essentials of life to include food, clothes, rent, electric, hygiene items, and household items to improve the quality of life for the under privileged in our community.

Mission Statement: Operation Sight is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to restoring vision and improving the lives of uninsured South Carolina residents suffering from cataracts or urgent, sight-threatening retinal disorders by providing free surgical care.

Mission Statement: Paisley’s Bunny Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit bunny specific rescue. We rescue bunnies from hoarding situations, bunnies that have been abandoned in the woods or left behind in the home when the family moved, and those that are neglected and abused. We also rescue many bunnies from shelter euthanasia lists. Shelters are not set up to care for bunnies, their needs are so different and many bunnies end up on the euthanasia list. We place as many bunnies as possible into loving, caring homes and those that are not adopted live out their lives at our facility’s sanctuary. All bunnies are spayed/neutered before adoption and vaccinated for RHDV.

Mission Statement: The Palmetto Literacy Council’s mission is to improve the literacy of youth and adults in our community by tutoring basic literacy skills for those who struggle with basic Reading, Writing and/or Math.

Mission Statement: Palmetto Project is a non-profit entity committed to helping South Carolinians access affordable and quality preventative and specialty care. Our Insure SC program is a one-stop shop to enroll and get information about health coverage options including Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, and private insurance. All services are free. It is the first nonprofit insurance agency in South Carolina and the second in the nation. Revenue generated strengthens our impact in financial stability and work readiness.

Mission Statement: South Carolina Legal Services is a statewide law firm that provides civil legal services to protect the rights and represent the interests of low income South Carolinians.

Mission Statement: SCYAP provides a variety of services to children and families throughout South Carolina. Our largest service is to provide foster homes to children who need them. SCYAP believes that every youth has the right to a permanent home and family, and that the family and community are invaluable resources in the growth and development of each youth. We believe the home should be a safe and nonviolent environment for each child to grow into his or her fullest potential.

Mission Statement: Teach My People (TMP) is a Christ-centered, academically focused afterschool and summer program for students in need, selected by our local teachers, in Pawleys Island and Georgetown, South Carolina.

Mission Statement: Tidelands Community Hospice Foundation’s mission is to support and bring awareness of the services provided by Tidelands Community Hospice. Care, beyond the traditional hospice role, comfort, and support is provided to all with life-limiting illnesses who are in need in Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg Counties. Regardless of their financial status or life situation, care is provided in their home, wherever it may be, no one is turned away.

Mission Statement: The T.W.L.U.M Teens Project has adopted the mission of improving the well-being of at-risk communities teens ages 12 to 18 through technology, educational experiences and tours to maximize exposure and broaden their horizons. . One of the goals of the program is to ensure that participants start thinking and visualizing future career possibilities and make definitive plans for a post high school vocation.
